With over 25+ years of hands-on experience in information technology (IT) and cyber security, I bring a unique blend of military precision and commercial acumen to the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape. After a distinguished 17-year career in the British Army’s Royal Corps of Signals, culminating as a Foreman of Signals Information Systems, I transitioned to the private sector to co-found Cyber Security Associates (CSA) in 2013.
At CSA, headquartered in Gloucester, we specialize in providing comprehensive cyber security consultancy and managed services. Our offerings include 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) support, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), penetration testing, and cyber education. Our team, comprising ex-military and commercially experienced specialists, is dedicated to detecting, protecting, and educating against the ever-changing cyber threat.
My role as Founder and Technical Director (CTO) is to ensure that the alignment of business strategy meets realistic technical solutions through the use of automation and AI. Managing the complete end to end technology strategy and roadmap ensuring that businesses can scale effectively. Management of the Infrastructure, IT and governance surrounding how all the parts fit together is a key part of my ability to think “Outside the Box” and deliver solutions and capabilities effectively and under reduced timeframes.
My expertise lies in Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS), where I focus on integrating automation and AI to enhance security measures. I am passionate about advancing cyber security practices and regularly share insights through my blog, where I discuss topics ranging from AI security risks to external attack surface management.
Under my technical leadership, CSA has achieved significant milestones, including growing from 2 founders to now nearly 100 employees, CREST accreditation for our SOC services and membership in the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA). These accomplishments reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in cyber security.
